As a chriopractor, Dr. Kopala is specially trained to locate and correct chiropractic subluxations. Subluxations are misalignments of the vertebrae which interfere with the proper function of nerve flow. Your nervous system is your body's electrical system - it controls and manages all functions of your body. If a nerve is pinched off by vertebrae that are out of place, then it is not functioning at its optimal level, which means your body is not functioning as well as it could. This may or may not lead to symptoms.
Dr. Kopala has experience with a number of chiropractic techniques, and will work with you to find what works the best for you and your body. Many patients prefer manual adjustments (sometimes called 'cracking') and some prefer to be adjusted by one of our adjusting tools.
The Adjustor is applied to your spine through a series of chiropractic adjustments specifically designed to correct the vertebral subluxations in your spine. Adjustments with the Adjustor are so quick and measured, the body’s muscles are less likely to resist, allowing for a more precise and accurate adjustment. The Adjustor can also help realign joints in other parts of the body.
Percussor
Many people experience chronic health problems due to fascial restrictions and scar tissue. The fascia is the thin layer of connective tissue that covers and supports the muscles and inner organs of the body and when it fixates or knots up it can cause pain or other health issues. The Percussor allows us to work with the fascia of the body, freeing the fixations. The smooth force of the Percussor allows the freeing of both the connective tissue and the deep fascia.
You may experience remarkable results with the Percussor in many problem areas including:
• shoulders
• elbows
• wrists
• hips
• knees
• ankles
• lung congestion
Activator
The Activator is a unique hand-held instrument many doctors choose to deliver low-force chiropractic adjustments. The Activator provides a controlled, fast thrust that is comfortable for the patient. In fact, adjustments with the Activator are so quick and measured, the body’s muscles are less likely to resist, allowing for a more precise and accurate adjustment.
The chiropractor places the tip of the chiropractic activator against the area of the back to be adjusted. He then adjusts the angle of the intended pressure. The chiropractor applies pressure to the chiropractic activator by squeezing his hand together. The instrument then delivers a precisely-measured gentle thrust in a specific direction thus coaxing misaligned bones back into place.
Low Level Laser
When the body has an injury the cells are damaged and fail to function within normal parameters. Low level lasers penetrate deeply into the skin and work by restoring this abnormal cellular function. Physiologic effects include improved metabolism, circulation and tissue healing.
The cold laser device has gained FDA approval for the non-surgical treatment of neckand shoulder compaints and has been used in the NFL and by the USPS tour de France team chiropractor.
